From the confines of our memories comes a skewed interpretation of how we develop identity. The constant romanticizing of the past though photographs feeds into our individual identities and self worth. This body of images, Remnants, is a scattered emotional response to innocence before personal experience and to the nature of its transformation. The ephemeral nature of memory is important to this project. In general, we tend to paint over bad memories with more pleasant ones. This deception is part of what drives my photographs. I am asking the viewers to play with their own interpretations of memories.
